These masks are fully lined with a soft fabric. Openings at the elastic adjustable ties are designed so you can insert additional filter. I’ve put an enclosed wire at the nose bridge for contouring.
You will need to specify a lining fabric option ( secondary fabric). I have a hemp twill for protection, modal jersey breathable lightweight protection or a light netting for breathability minimal protection. Notice If the outer layer is a open weave knit or silk; be advised that these fabrications have minimal preventative alone, choose the lining with this in mind. (With all fabrication I advise inserting filter to provide extra protection).
Please also include size specs below. I personally have a long face so I’m a medium.
These items are all produced in Northern California (Marin)
The hemp canvas version (not shown) has been donated and shipped to hospitals in California, Boston, and New York and essential workers in California. The feedback has been that they are the most comfortable and effective of all donated masks. Masks donated to hospitals include a filter. This is not available to the general public due to limited supplies.
The fabrics vary in thickness. Some are silk, brocade, cotton, denim twill, hemp. All can be hand washed. Cotton and denim can be machine washed and dried. Other fancy decorative fabrics should be gently soaked in warm water with mild soap, patted with towel and laid flat to dry. Fabrics have been steamed with an iron. A suggestion for a quick daily preventative measure would be to leave in sun for 10 min. As with all masks the medical advice is to wash your hands before putting them on and off, and to wash them after use.
Small size approximately
6”width nose bridge to chin
Medium size is approximately
7”width at bridge to under chin
I have seen through research findings, that layering different fabric contents creates a matrix or labyrinth which can trap virus, which is why I created the lining and outer layer in separate fabrics. I make no claims that these masks provide protection. They are made to accommodate people who wish to comply with local guidelines, by wearing fabric masks as an additional method to reduce risk of transmission in conjunction with hand washing and social distancing.
